
Recipe for Classic Australian Meat Pies
Ingredients:
- 500g ground beef or minced meat
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced

Steps:
- Prepare the Filling:

- Prepare the Pastry:
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Roll out puff pastry sheets and cut them into circles to fit the base and top of your pie tins.
- Line the pie tins with pastry, ensuring the edges are well-pressed.
- Assemble the Pies:
- Fill the pastry cases with the cooled meat mixture, leaving space at the top for sealing.
- Cover with a second pastry circle, pressing the edges to seal. Use a fork for a decorative crimp.
- Brush the tops with egg wash for a golden finish.
- Bake:
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the pastry is golden and puffed.
- Serve:
- Allow to cool slightly before removing from tins. Serve warm with tomato sauce or gravy.
